On
behalf of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce of Northeast FL (PRCCNF),
the bridge between Jacksonville and Puerto Rico we announce direct
flights from Jacksonville to San Juan PR starting on May 2011.
The
chamber's two-year efforts to bring direct flights from San Juan to
Jacksonville have been achieved. It is with great pride that we
announce our 2010 goal has been accomplished. Since 2005, the Jax
Puerto Rico Parade has brought over 17,000 participants to its festival
downtown. This event gave birth to the PRCCNF. Last year, the Chamber
and its members put together the Sister City Twinning Ceremony between
Jacksonville and San Juan Puerto Rico. Our President and CEO pledged at
that time to have direct flights from San Juan to Jacksonville within
one year.
Today's announcement reinforces the chamber's
commitment to bring economical development and prosperity to Northeast
Florida. PRCCNF remains confident that travel between both cities
will have a tremendous financial impact for the City of Jacksonville.
It will bring more jobs, better business opportunities with our trading
partners in the Caribbean and Latin America and cultivate business,
cultural and educational exchange programs to help embrace the City of
Jacksonville growing diversity. Thank you to each and everyone for
supporting our chamber. | The Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida
